Title: Wood chips
Post by: herbCoop on May 26, 2018, 03:26:57 PM
On the big easy, do you soak your wood chips first or add them dry in the wood chip box? If wet how long do you soak them? I've been doing them dry.

Since I know most of the members are waiting for me to respond first (they're a courteous lot)...

Don't smoke with wet wood! Ever!

I've taken a bit of the whisky this evening so I won't try to explain it myself but refer you to Meathead's post on the topic at AmazingRibs.com (https://amazingribs.com/more-technique-and-science/more-cooking-science/myth-soak-your-wood-first).

NEVER soak wood  :o      Like The Turtle and Tent have said.

On most cooks follow the 15-10-8 method and dry chips or pellets and you will be just fine!!
