Title: Good Grate cleaning tool
Post by: Inxider on September 25, 2019, 02:02:33 AM
After reading some articles about ppl swallowing metal bristles I think I steer away.
I know is 1 in thousand.

What is a good alternative.

Do the wood scrapper work?

Or are this other two better?

Bristle Free BBQ Grill Cleaner/Scraper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H31VMD1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UeWIDbSG6E6HM

Safe Brass Barbeque Grill Cleaner https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZ4T4RF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UhWIDb5EZCWKN

Thanks.

I have a bristle free tool similar to the link you posted.  It does a decent job but it is so rigid it really doesn't do well at getting down between the rails of the grate.  Good for the surface but not so much for the in-between.

I too am curious about the wood one, saw these at Costco.  The one thing I didn't like about it is that when you use it it forms grooves to conform to the spacing on your grate.  I have three grate styles with three different spacing patterns.

As Tommy said that is the best way to clean a grill any Dollar tree or dollar store sell the bottles for a buck. I also have one for my gas grills with a soap & water mix to check for gas leaks

O wow,

That seem like a good idea.
I would look into some cheap welding gloves and give that a try.

I assume I would have to play with different consistency of the ball.
And is always better to do it after each cook while the coal are still on and grill hot, spray some water and scrub.
