Title: Graduation BBQ/Cookout
Post by: TentHunteR on May 31, 2013, 01:45:21 PM
My daughter not only turned 18 this past week, she graduated from high school last Friday evening. (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cMGwzcgCfa0/UX_XsUdWoQI/AAAAAAAAE0s/Ni4jKyHK49s/s17/huh.gif) How scary is that?

The Grad party (tomorrow) is actually a combined graduation party for her and one of the guys on the H.S. band Drumline, so between the two families & friends we're expecting easily 125 - 150 people throughout the day.

We decided to do an all day BBQ/cookout at a local park and are catering it ourselves to save mega bucks.

The protein menu will include:

Needless to say... the meats will all be homemade.

10 lb. Picnic ham...

...15 lbs Kosher-style Beef Franks & 10 lbs Bratwursts...    DONE!

We're working on the rest of the sausages today.

More pics to come...

I got nothing like that when they let me out of high school.  The only thing I got was people standing back, looking at me and shaking their heads. I seem to remember over hearing some teachers whipering something about a "he's gone" party...don't rightly know what they meant by that. ??? Dee

dee - It might have had something to do with the fact that you took 13 consecutive (that means "in a row") years to finish high school.

Four of the best years of my life was tenth grade.

Tent, congratulations to your daughter and to you for throwing such a great party to honor her. That is a lot of meat and I know it will be a great celebration.

Nice job!

Since my daughters are 32 and 34... both married... I don't have to worry abut doing that anymore <lol> but if I need catering, you'll be getting a call!

Thanks everyone! It was such a busy day I personally didn't get a single picture taken, but the wife got a few and another friend got some really great pics. I need to get some of them posted.

That is some awesome looking cooking going on there. Makes me wanna go back to high school, so I can graduate again. My Daughter graduates next year..... she isn't sure she wants BBQ at the her party.....think I am doing it anyway. I keep telling her we can do a money tree.....the smell of BBQ will free up many more a wallet than the smell of store bought anything.

Congrats to your Daughter!
