Even though this is primarily a cooking forum, you folks here are very special in the way you share the good times and the trying times you and you loved ones go through. There are a number of posts here today which prove that and some brought tears to my eyes. I just want to say...I'm very proud to be associated with y'all. Dee

We truly have a special group of people that have formed the core user group on LTBBQ. All you need to do is spend time on any other forum out there - and you will come to appreciate what I am saying.
They say you are known by the company you keep....
I continue to be humbled by the quality of the company I am allowed to keep - here on LTBBQ.

Dee, T, Scallywag, bbqchef, preferd, and the rest of you that I know will be posting - you are right. There IS something unique about this forum. Like Scallywag, I don't have a lot of time to visit a number of forums. Dr Biggles turned me on to a great forum for stereo equipment. Like this one they are very helpful and respectful But, there is something "different" about LTBBQ. I think Dee and T have expressed it well

I am deeply grateful for your enduring patience with me...for your gentle care with others...for your openness and transparency when things go wrong...for the way you allow folks to be "who they are" and cook the way they want to...

Haven't been here all that long myself....sorry I bring all you nice, well socially adjusted, non-rednecktified folk down! At least you are kind enough to let me hang out here. Like the others, this is my get from work, plop down in the puter chair and stop in for a visit place. Some have said it is like family here; yep that's how I feel! The crazy Uncle we all keep in the corner...included. Only with fewer family squabbles! I am honored to know you all and consider all my next of kin!

The turtle is a slightly less attractive version of myself but he probably has more interesting stories to tell. I am on Facebook with a hundred or two friends and family and I honestly feel I am getting more support here with what we are going through.
My wife thought I was wierd to spend as much time as I did reading the posts here, but when I shared the posts of the support you all have offered while she is going through this she was surprised and humbled.
I like to eat, I like to cook and I REALLY like to read about you guys doing the same things. Good people, good food, family and friends......... can it be better?

I totally agree with Dee on his thread. I am relatively new around here, I was invited by Tommy a while back and then welcomed by most all of the regular "family" on here since my first post. Forums are only as good as the folks who contribute in them. This forum is mostly intended to be a bbq/grilling/sharing site, but it is so much more! It truly is a fellowship. People not only share here, which they do quite often, but more importantly, the folks here care. They truly care. That is so rare in the cyber world. I am not only proud to be a very small part of what goes on in here, I am very thankful and appreciative that I was welcomed into the fold by all of you. It is a place like "Cheers" where you like to go to a place that everybody knows your name!

Also a member of several other sites but have gravitated to spending most it not all of my time here. Very friendly atmosphere here and everyone is so helpful.

whats great about this site? well, where do i begin.
1. a lot of knowledge about all types of bbq food from old to young ppl and from all over the country.
2. everyone here uses a different pieces of bbq equipment to cook on (this in one of the main reasons i'm here). the neat thing is that you see the differences depending on which part of the country you live in. i like that.
3. everyone like to cook certain foods a lot (i like cooking ribs, butts and chuckies). the neat thing is watching them put different spin on the same things. i like that too.
4. love all pictures everyone post. some of ya'll have some really nice backyards and properties. love seeing where everyone cooks at.
5. we do have our share of...... lets just say, interesting ppl here. ::) lol. you know who you are :-X (t, art, rick, scally, LA, tommy, muebe, rickyb, bent, TH and the list goes on and on). that's one of the best parts of this forum. I've known a lot of ya'll for along time. la familia.
6. no one is trying to sell me anything or telling me what i can or can't use and no rude ppl. another very good part.
7. and, we have all the cool ppl hanging out here. go 49er's.
