Title: Completely off-topic.....
Post by: teesquare on February 11, 2012, 10:35:14 PM: 2 years ago, I put 20 bucks in a jar at my local tire store, because there was a sad story about 3 local kids that nearly died in a car wreck. As I walked away -the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted my raffle tickets? I asked what do you mean? He said they were raffling off a Remington 7400 in 30-06, one ticket for every 5 bucks you put in the jar.
While the Mrs. and I were in Vermont on vacation - they called me and said - "come get your gun" ;D

Last week, I bought a few raffle tickets for the Friends of the NRA dinner. Nice fund raiser with all of the money going to things like FFA programs and hunting safety for teens, etc...

They called and said..."Pick any gun on this list that you want" ;D! I won the big prize that allowed me to choose from a list of over 40 different guns!
I wanted something that I could shoot clays, and then go hunt birds if I wanted.....And this is the one a I chose.

I have some friends that go to a farm and pheasant hunt up in the WV/PA area. Not too pricey, but a lot of fun. Before I went on IR recently I was supposed to go with them in a couple of months. Not sure I will make it this year.

Art - perhaps we should consider a "vicarious hunt". We go up there, and you tell me where to shoot, and I will were an HD video camera while you relax in the car or clubhouse watching on the computer ;D. I mean - my wife tells me where to go all of the time, so you telling me where to shoot will be a natural for me ;D

TP -I figure that guns must be my thing with "luck" - so I will likely lose your money if the Lottery is your thing. But, you know - I have never bought a lottery ticket in my life....maybe I should try it...? ;D

Smoke - it may be the end of a streak, but I am happy nonetheless! Weatherby is new to shotguns, I just hope they are as good as their rifles.

The good news , although not supporting the American firearms business is that they have a long history of making pretty good guns.
