It's a smart and thoughtful man who remembers the date of his wife's birthday but not the number.
Boy, do I wish I had known this in 1975 when we were living on post and it was my wife's birthday and I invited some neighbors over for some cake. It was a beautiful cake---well decorated and with the right number of candles. Really covered all the bases.
One neighbor who was very overweight, somewhat younger than she looked, and looked older than my wife, said to my wife, "Oh, you are older than I am!
Y'all that was the LAST time my wife ever got a birthday cake with anything close to numbers on it. I think when she reaches 100 I may make a concession to that milestone.
