So we do 3 Christmas trees at my house every year, and a meal goes with each. The Christmas Eve meal is always a particular fish plate and this year we had 2 vegetarians joining the festivities so we added a vegetarian lasagna dish to the regular fare of green beans, onions, salad, and a mashed potato casserole. As some of you know the Northeast got clobbered with an ice storm over Christmas and we were without power for three days so we had to get a little creative with our cooking. I have a generator for the basics but the stove was out. So I did the potato casserole, beans, and lasagna on the MAK (10 degrees out) while my honey did the onions in the toaster oven and the fish on the wood stove, our only source of heat. As you can see the meal was saved. I love my MAK. And it was our first shot at smoked spuds. ;)

Great looking meal!
Way to pull through when the powers out ;)

Wow great job ;D

Yeah, it was a struggle but we got through. ;) The leftover fish was not bad the next day either. I want to thank Keymaster again for posting the onion/bouillon cube trick. What a great way to kick onions up a notch.

Awesome cooking!

Wingman it's not what happens to us that is important, it's how we deal with it! And you did very well! Everything looks great! :P

Great save and I hope the power is back. Not really the time of year to not have power.

What a great looking table set up. It's great to be an outdoor cook and have all the equipment you have available when you face adversity as you conquered. Dee

Great job and beautiful table and the food looks great!!! I was feeling for the people who was without power. We went through one in 08 and no power for almost 3 days. My gas grill gave us hot food and water to bathe. Don
