A Friend asked me if I'd smoke a brisket for a party they were having. I said sure.
I had to cook burgers and dogs for 150 last night at church, so I arrived home later than usual.
I fired up the MAK, and it tripped the GFI. The last time this happened, the igniter was going south. I moved the MAK to an outlet on a non-GFI circuit and made a mental note to order a new igniter on Monday. The MAK fired up, and I went inside to prep the brisket.
When I came back with the brisket, the patio was eerily silent. %^(*&%
The MAK was still on, a little smoke was rolling, but no fan and no auger. Further investigation revealed a blown fuse on the MAK.
The local hardware store is closed. Hmmm... into the house oven @ 225F until morning.
I was at the hardware store staring in the window when the opened this morning. I bought the last 2-pack of 3A fuses they had. the old fuse was a 3.15A, but it was all they had.
I disconnected the igniter and used a little torch fuel in the firepot ( I could not find any hand sanitizer) and away we go.
I'm using the Amazen tube smoker to supplement the smoke.
