What's Under Your Stove?
« Reply #-1 on: August 30, 2014, 09:50:40 PM »
OK so maybe for you fellows that have a good wife that will take on the challenge of keeping your house clean for you this might not seem like such a big deal. I have all this time on my hands now since I retired that cleaning each room with a tooth brush has me busy to say the least. So today i decided to pull the stove out from the wall.....................YIKES. Wow what a mess. Could not believe just how much dirt/kunk if thats a word was there.  ???
After cleaning it all I looked on the internet and you should clean behind your fridge and stove at least twice a year. Dang I thought it was when you moved in and moved out.

In my line of work I am constantly looking behind stoves and dryers. You would not believe some of the stuff behind them. Some customers have a completely spotless house and when you show them behind the stove they are horrified. Then again some houses are more dirty than behind the stove :o

Look, if God wanted us to clean behind stoves and refrigerators He would have built them on wheels. Dee

I guess that's why my fridge, both of them, are on wheels. ;)

Another part of the fridge that needs cleaning,

Remove the front and back lower covers and vacuum all the dust bunnies that are living in there ;D

Well I moved into this rental house for the time being and the ice maker has been only making three ice cubes at a time and there hollow inside. So I download the manual and come to find out it has a water filter. I am not going to pay $54 for no water filter every six months. It said I can run with out it so I yarded that sucker out. Well now I have full ice cubes and it makes a full tray every time. I cannot believe the management company did not clean this before I moved in 4 months ago.

This is the bottom of the front evaporator coil, I cant believe my food was even being cooled it was so bad.

Wait, so you're telling me that I need to clean behind the refrigerator and the stove?! That's why I cook outdoors.

I tried to pull my fridge out a while back and it seems the surrounding cabinets have swelled a bit, and it is locked tight. Guess I'll try again this winter.
