I finally broke down!
« Reply #-1 on: June 11, 2015, 12:22:37 PM »
Well I finally broke down and ordered me a Thermoworks Thermopen! I hated to spend that much on one but I liked Old Dave’s he had at the Ohio gathering and even Pam has a pink one! I had to settle for one of the slowest colors gray! It was the only one in stock at Amazon and would have had to go to Thermoworks for a different color.

Oh well gray suites this old man and it matches my hair. I am slow so won’t even notice the few tenths seconds longer it takes to register!

I also ordered me a new one burner gas cooker from Camp Chef. I have one but it has a high heat burner and was hard to regulate for using cast iron ware. I cooked on Cliffs two burner at the gathering and liked it.

Smokin Don
Traeger 07E pellet smoker
Weber E210 gas grill
Weber Jumbo Joe Charcoal
Camp Chef Pro 30 gas burner
Camp Chef Iron Griddle
Lodge CI Hibachi
Instant Pot Pressure Cooker
I am not aging, just marinating
I think I am starting to age!

You won't be disappointed with the Thermopen , Just make sure not to get it wet. Did you get a discount price?
I get emails about every other week with some sale they have going at the time.

At a certain point, you forget about the money spent and realize you would have spent it on beer anyways.  :D

Congrats Don on your new tools! I'm interested in hearing more about your one-burner. I'm in the market for one.

I went into a pool with mine because I forgot it was in my pocket. I was swimming for like 20 minutes. Realized I had done that and freaked. It still worked fine :)

Don even though gray is 0.00067543 slower than the fastest color green it is still a great buy and worth every pennie.
