I didn't just grow up.  I was taught to speak when I entered a room.  Say please and thank you, to have respect for my elders and to get off my lazy butt and let the elder in the room have my chair.  Say, "Yes sir" and "No sir," lend a helping hand to those in need, hold the door for the person behind me, say "excuse me" when it's needed and to love people for who they are and not for what I can get from them.  I was also taught to treat people the way I wanted to be treated.

I hope you were raised this way too.

I was raised this way, too.  We raised our son the same way.  It certainly appears that this has not been the case with a lot of today's generation.

When I gave my mom's eulogy, the first line and theme was "You raised me..." I only hope I am coming close with my own kids.

I was raised that way and had my backside worn out when I did not do right. I tried to pass it down to my kids and it seems like my son has done a good job of passing with to my granddaughter.

Unusually for a turtle, I was raised by wolves. I know that explains a lot (especially about my younger years) but not how I ended up with the ever-lovely and gracious SWMBO. Exception proving the rule I guess.

I was raised that way but I cannot say the same about the other in my generation.  Smoke doing those things would be considered mircoagressions now... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microaggression_theory  I know thinking of it in this way blow the mind, but thats how my young folk think today.  Head shake sigh and just raise my kids (when we have them) the right way.
