When I see news items like this I try to keep an open mind. It said it tasted "like" bacon. Most of us could try it and dismiss it as another ploy to fool us into more sales, or it could be something that might be enjoyed by folks who are on restricted diets because of health concerns. To them, a " bacon-ish"  taste might be a God-send!
I surely would try it given an opportunity.

David, have you tried Dr. Pepper 10? It is indistinguishable from the real thing and only 10 calories per 8 oz.

David, have you tried Dr. Pepper 10? It is indistinguishable from the real thing and only 10 calories per 8 oz.

IR2D - actually I don't drink soft drinks anymore (Ginger Ale and Dr. Pepper were my last... ) Even the artificial sweeteners aren't good for me. It's Club Soda (or really carbonated water) these days. I do applaud Dr. Pepper for making the alternatives so close to the same flavor. I did enjoy them.

For anyone on the "edge" Dr. Pepper is a great alternative.
