Pam where is Hibachi Cook?
« Reply #-1 on: February 22, 2016, 01:25:50 PM »
I was hoping you would get some cooks posted before I get mine! :) Maybe I can learn something! I am going to wash off my grate and then light coat of lard and in the oven at 300 deg. then turn off and let cool for a seasoning before I use it. I am not going to worry about the rest but I saw one tip I like is lining with foil, it would save on any grease clean up. I know most burns on the coals but you are bound to get some. Don

I would season the whole thing! Seriously
It will fit in the oven and since the ovens already on ...
Down here we have LOTS of humidity and a little brackish air at times. Plays heck with the outdoor cast iron.  I cant keep it seasoned enough.

It cooks nice thick steaks or pork chops. Pork will dry out quick on it so watch for that.

Terry...I will do that...I seasoned the top grate but did the entire pans when I did the de Buyer pans..inside and out..makes sense to me, might even do it tonight cause I have time.  thanks for the suggestion.
Don mine will be ready tomorrow to cook something greasy on and liek the idea of the foil on the bottom for cleanup. OK I seasoned the entire thing inside and out and reseasoned the top, sure soaked up some coconut oil but that's ok, she is in the oven as we speak, will let it cook for about an hour at 350º, then turn oven off and let her sit all night, then cook something tomorrow for Don. .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
