Collapsible cooler for travel
« Reply #-1 on: September 23, 2016, 09:56:17 AM »
Good Day,

As always I come to the professionals before making any purchase. I am sitting in a hotel in Toronto (Blue jays verse Yankees) and my collapsible cooler is leaking.
Any suggestions on a new one?

Thanks, CDN

Thermos Element 5 24 can cooler.
Has a thick removable liner. Bought my first to use on my kayak as a fish keeper.
Even bream fins won't puncture the liner!
Does it keep ice as long as the yeti , not even close!
BUT  I paid $25 a piece for my two, ( yes I bought another to leave in my truck) on sale now at Amazon with coupon for $18 !
Yeti .......$300 :o

Check out Rtic soft packs too.
If that's to high $$ I have a Coleman collapsable that works really well and fits under the back seat.  It will not hold ice as long but for a few hours it's fine. It has a semi hard top and bottom.  Cost about $40.00
It doubles as a great storage bag too...

Drew I have yet to find a moderately priced collapsible cooler that won't leak. I have tried many, all with the same results. The sewn seams are usually the culprit. I now have a Coleman soft-side with a plastic insert that keeps ice/water where it belongs....in the cooler. Hope this helps.
Oh these come in several sizes too. And that beer you saw, it was merely in the pics for comparitive sizing! ;)

If it is OK I would like to add to this.  I am in need of a Travel Cooler for behind the seat with wheels and if possible electric.

This cooler gets good reviews but I have never used it. The biggest thing is it seems to be bulky

When boats world was going out of business a few years ago I bought two of these for like $8.00 each. I have never used them because I still don't have a real boat. Neat for small boats but nothing else...just for a day on the water :D :D :D
