The M1 has arrived... :)
« Reply #-1 on: November 05, 2016, 11:01:18 PM »
Arrived home early from work yesterday to be greeted by the delivery guy...

I've been anxiously awaiting this delivery for 3 weeks now, and it's finally here...

Seasoned it last night, and smoked some baby backs today. Thin blue smoke was a cinch to manage for this 6 hour cook. Flavor was outstanding, as any good stick burner should be...

Held between 225-250° with very little tweaking...

Off to a good start :-)

I have been waiting for your receipt of the M1 becasue after 10 years of not having a stick burning I am now looking.
That is a great looking pit and I look forward to seeing pictures of many cooks coming off of it.
Did you use wood and just charcoal for the ribs?

Congrats

PS. I was so interested in the M1 I forget to let you know the ribs look dynamite for you first cook.

Great lookin' ribs, sir!

Even though the M1 is an awesome grill, you have to remember "it ain't the cooker - it's the cook".
With the combination of your abilities and this grill, you will put out some pretty good grub for quite a while.

Thanks! I started with a bed of lump just to mess around with and figure out temp control. It was easy peasy...and held temp almost as well as my kamado. By the time I got around to starting the ribs (about 4 hours after starting the fire) I was down to little lump left, and just went with splits for the entire cook. It was FUN and YUM :-)
