Leonard Cohen passed away this past Monday at 82. And today Leon Russell died, at age 74. These musical icons will be sadly missed by those that heard them perform. RIP both of you.

I remember when I was a kid it would go like this:
Mom: "So and so died"
Me: "Who was that Mom?"
Mom: "He/She was real famous"
Me: "Oh"
Mom: "When you get older you will know everyone famous that dies"
so true..............

Got to see Leon Russell play at a little dive bar in Birmingham, less than 100 people. It was when he was trying to make a comeback. His daughter sang backup and she was awesome.

All to often we take life for granted, like it will last forever. Ours and theirs. They will be missed.
