I feel sorry for the coast.  I think the barrier islands are going to look a lot different this time next week.

We made it through Hugo 30 years ago.  Did a lot go grilling during the week after.  Just stocked up on KBB at Home Depot and got a new batch of Weber lighter cubes . . .

Having gone through Hurricane Harvey last year, I feel for anyone in the Carolinas.  Batten down the hatches, get your grills and smokers into the garage, and evacuate before y'all are in harm's way.  Stay safe!

Take care of business, then head for higher ground. Prayers out to those folks in the path of nature's wrath!

Several of us NC members are quite a ways inland (me, Big Dawg, Art, Tim et al) and are not so much in harms way as we are in for plenty of inconvenience.  I live on high ground but have lots of old trees -- likely to be without power for a while.  All stocked up and prepared.  Thanks for all the messages, e-mails, and calls check up.  Be back as soon as possible!

Since the storm shifted direction again, we are all prepared. Hopefully we only get rain and some wind. Just replaced my roof after Irma.

If anyone gets Tim Buckley at WFMY News 2 in greensboro NC, listen to him.  He is a smart man, he will not guide you wrong.  Stay safe, turn around and drive away from flood waters.  Only take a couple inches of fast moving water to knock you off your feet, and 6" of water to drown.
