Turducken
« Reply #-1 on: November 15, 2018, 02:13:05 PM »
My son-in-law and grandson are going duck hunting this weekend.  He told me to get ready to cook a turducken for Thanksgiving.  Has anyone here cooked one?  Is it worth the effort, or is it more of a novelty?  My guess is, that it probably is tasty, but not worth the effort.  The novelty would wear off during the de-boning and prep process.  Seems like a lot of effort.  So, what does the LTBBQ brain trust think?

I've done a couple... commercially prepared and home stuffed.
They were OK but I think it's more novelty.

It *IS* a lot of work. And - I will tell you that I like chicken, duck and turkey...as separate birds to eat....but not all jammed up one another. Not sure why I don't like the taste....it just ain't natural I suppose... :D

I've always wanted to try doing a turducken, but haven't, partly because of all the prep work.  :(

I say go for it, and get lots of pics to post!

Tried it once, a friend special ordered it. It just made me miss a traditional Turkey. Not a fan.
