Potato Pancakes (Latkes)

For our Hanukkah celebration, we made 7 lbs of potato pancakes.  It took 3 hours from prep to frying the last one.  It is a big chore but well worth the time.  Once in a while it is nice to deviate from BBQ.  Happy Holidays to all

They do look good!!  I was thinking about making some myself.  Must get motivated.  Right now I am making chocolate bourbon butter creams and baking several different kinds of cookies.

Can I have mine with sour cream and apple sauce?

Sure that is one way to enjoy them.  Also try topped with a slice of smoked salmon or gravlax

Yes of course.  See the link below for Chef John.  This is by far the best recipe I found and it works really well if you follow the instructions.  If you have any leftovers, they make a good substitution for hash browns

I love latkes and yours look scrumptious!  Traditionally, sour cream is "on the side" but I find that boring.  I mix up sour cream and Sriracha hot sauce!  I've also been know to dip them in GRAVY.

Happy Hanukkah!
