I haven't been on the board for a couple of months.
A lot of negative things to deal with.
I went into the hospital in Indy for surgery in October. Ended up staying in for a couple of weeks.
A week after getting home, my sister called and informed me that her husband had just been killed in an auto crash.
I had known my brother-in-law since we were young men.
Two weeks later my son called me and told me that my nephew had just been killed in a motorcycle accident.
Very sad times for my family. I just didn't feel like (and actually couldn't do) much of anything.
Life must go on, and I have many blessings to be grateful for, so now that I am able to get back out on my cook deck, I decided to make a batch of Chex Mix.
Now to give credit where credit is due, I know you all are familiar with Saber 4's "Double Stuff" Chex Mix. I just took his idea and kicked it up even more.
More different goodies, more seasonings, more butter.... Well, you get the idea.
Anyway, here is the result. Exactly four pounds of snacking goodness. Actually I don't really know how good it will be because I just smoked it yesterday and it still tastes like a cigarette.
Hopefully it will be mellowed out by Christmas day.
All bagged up, just hanging out in the pantry.
If it tastes as good as I anticipate, my sons & granddaughter will get the bulk of it. If not I will have a lot of snacking for Christmas.
I wish a merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate it, and a happy holiday season to any who don't.
I'm praying for a better year for all of us.
