Sunday Dinner Southern Style
« Reply #-1 on: March 31, 2019, 08:36:24 PM »
I made a post last week titled "Not BBQ related at all but......" where I teased at making a video (yet to come, maybe, lol) and said that I would post it when done. Well, that's kind of what this is, it's more of a collaborative effort by the better half and myself. She did such an outstanding job with dinner, I decided to piggy back her cook onto what I concocted.

First, I'll share her portion. She brined a yardbird and then gave it a good rub down with one of the 50 rubs we have in the pantry and put it on the pellet grill. She ran it on "smoke" for a while before ramping it up to 400 degrees to finish it. While that was going on, she made some creamed potatoes and had some collards in the instant pot (with a smoked turkey leg). She also fried up some green tomatoes for her and the boy, I don't eat those nasty suckers, lol. There were some yeast rolls involved but somehow they missed her plate ::)

So that's her part of the affair. This morning when I awoke, it was pretty chilly and rainy outside so what did I do? I made ice cream, hahaha!

The vanilla bean ice cream was just part of what I had in mind though. I made it to go along with an apple crisp, to be served with homemade caramel sauce. I had a lot to do! I even made a batch of Double Chocolate Chip for my wife, she's a chocoholic. Here's lots of pictures to tell the tale.

Welcome to RG's Ice Cream Shop!

My original intent was to make a video and include recipes and I still may put something together. In the interim, if anyone wants recipes for any of the above, let me know. It's all fairly basic stuff.

Now I am off to watch a little TV as I drift into a food coma. Good night friends!
