I have always said if we had a LTBBQ hall of fame Don would be my first choice for the first member.

Don is still (I believe) our top topic starter here on the forum.

I looked forward to his posts and his wonderful grub he cooked up on that old Traeger of his.

somewhere in Heaven, Don and Phil and D.Holly are probably having a great cook out.

( For our newer members, Phil and David Holly are fallen LTBBQ family members)

It is a sad day indeed.................

So sad, I liked Don's post and hopped one day to have met him.   Sad when we lose a forum  member  :( seems like losing a family member it really does.

Smoke is right there should be a Hall of Fame and Don would be in there!

Good by my friend,

I just communicated with Nancy. She asked me to,  "Please let his other cooking buddies know. He sure enjoyed our get togethers."

She has also asked for prayers for the family as it's such a sad time for the family.

I know we can do that!

So sorry to get this news.

Smokin' Don was truly one of "The Good Guys".  You could tell he was passionate about his cookin' AND he enjoyed other people's cookin'.

He was always encouraging when he replied to posts...always left me feeling better.

Thanks to everyone for the great memories...they made an appearance at my dad's service yesterday! He loved this forum and swapping ideas and recipes.

SD always made a killer plate of food and always seemed humble. And we all learned how to butter bread from him.

He is missed. RIP sir
