Ribs look great!
If you want to lighten the mesquite and not add another powerful flavor I would mix with oak in my opinion.

Very good suggestion Marty.  I found the problem I had as odd because one of the biggest complaints on the FEC120 is lack of smoke flavor.  I am going to do some Pork Ribs this weekend for practice and am going back to Hickory so I will report back what it is like with that.  The good part is the Amazen 12 inch tube fits right in front of the firepot perfect if the smoker alone does not kick out the smoke profile I am looking for
