Cold Day Comfort Food: Chicken and Dumplings
« Reply #-1 on: January 20, 2013, 09:16:59 PM »
******No charcoal or pellets were harmed in the making of this meal******

Cold day in Minnesota. So I asked my wife what she would like me to make. Chicken and Dumplings!

Started with my all time favorite tool in my kitchen. My 13 quart Le Creuset oval Dutch oven. Empty the thing weighs over a 100 pounds.  It is so big we used to bathe my son in it.

Chicken, onions, garlic, chicken stock, bay leaves......in the pool.

Finished product. It was really good and hit the spot.

That just makes you wanna blubber ..."Momma!!!"....Man - chicken and dumplings are one of my favorites.

But - I have to tell you - when I first opened the post - I saw a child in a pot....and got a little worried.... :D Glad you explained! Cute kid!

That Chicken & Dumplings looks like perfect cold weather food. I can only imagine how good your house must have smelled.

I got the pot about 8 years ago. Won an auction on eBay. Think it was around $160, so it was a very good deal. Retail that stuff is way expensive. But I will have it forever.
