A couple of recent cooks

For Christmas Eve, Stephanie cooked a prime rib she got at Publix and honestly, it was not THAT good of one. Nevertheless, it was prime rib and that's still good :) We should've cooked it on the pellet grill but it was a nasty day here on Christmas Eve so the oven got the nod.

Tonight, we had some comfort food. Our son made tomato soup that had cream, leaks, garlic, a touch of bacon, vegetable broth and basil. It is STELLAR! Paired well with Tillamook Cheddar grilled cheese on Texas Toast, that's for sure!

I know that I haven't been taking "good" pictures lately, more of just a point and shoot approach lately but I will say that the soup and sammich were good photo worthy! LOL

Sorry, but I'm not a big prime rib fan. You could just give me an extra grilled cheese or two and everything else along with a nice chunk of butter for the mashed potatoes and I'd be very happy.
I didn't get pictures of our Christmas dinner which was fillets done on the Blackstone, griddled baby potatoes, shrimp and eggplant dressing, candied yams, mac & cheese and homemade Parker House rolls. Desserts included a cranberry & brie brad pudding w/white chocolate sauce.

Yeah, I'm with you on the prime rib. Not my favorite cut of beef.
