Not feeding a mob this year so was too lazy to cook all the required New Year's food groups separately. Figuratively killed a bunch of birds with one stone by including ham and collard greens in my black-eyed peas. I guess I could have made it a sweep by adding a cornbread crust but decided to go with the traditional cast iron skillet method for that part.

Working tonight. Tomorrow I'm doing ribeyes on charcoal. Assisting will be Freckle Belly Pale Ale and my neighbors homemade scuppernong wine.
Happy New Year Everyone. Let's make it a great one!

Doin' most of the traditional stuff.  Did the collards yesterday so they could meld together overnight.

Kept it simple this New Years.  Pork loin on a bed of sauerkraut with caraway seeds and onions in my crock pot.  Came out really tasty.  Since my wife doesn't care for beans of any kind, I resorted to a can of black eyed peas with a few extras to make them edible.  Enough hot sauce cures a lot of ills!!  Oh, yes.  I had a nice dirty martini while I was preparing the meal.

Osso Bucco. My favorite Italian comfort dish. Giada DeLaurentis recipe. If you never....you gotta!

Cue Rod Serling; I'm afraid now - very afraid. Just happens that I made osso buco for dinner last night (NY Eve) but used an adapted version of a "Cooking for Engineers" recipe. Try making gremolata as the garnish next time (mince garlic into your parsley and lemon zest).
