Burger Creation
« Reply #-1 on: January 17, 2021, 01:38:53 PM »
I woke up this morning with something on my mind. Maybe it came to me in a dream? I wanted to make a burger for lunch, so I did. I even took some good pictures for a change, well at least one ;)

From the bottom up :

Pan toasted buttered potato bun heel, raspberry chipotle bbq sauce drizzle, grilled 1/3 pound brisket/chuck patty (basted in the bbq sauce at the end of grilling to get all nice and sticky and caramelized), colby jack cheese, candied maple glazed thick cut bacon, smoked brisket slices, pickled jalapenos, scratch made onion straws, drizzle of raspberry chipotle bbq sauce, pan toasted buttered potato bun crown.

Good doesn't begin to describe this thing!

Good stuff!  I love jalapeños, but I find they overpower burgers unless pickled.

I don't think I've ever had fresh jalapenos on a burger. I bet fire roasted would be good, with some queso!

Just yellow onions soaked in buttermilk then dipped in Kentucky Kernal seasoned flour. It really added a nice touch to the burger, along with the jalapenos and bacon. The crunch worked well with the burger patty and the brisket slices.

RG, Five Guys offers fresh jalepenos on their burgers if you want them. I wanted them once, but I wound up picking them off after one bite. They are so much hotter than pickled jalepenos which I love. Your burger is excellent. I think burger party at RG's would be appropriate.

Thanks for the compliments gents! I need to say something about the bacon. It was not just "candied maple bacon".

I took dark maple syrup and mixed in some of Tee's "Super Pig" rub. I brushed it on both sides and baked it in the oven on a rack to keep it nice and flat. It was insanely good!

The brisket was vac sealed leftover brisket from the KBQ, so you already know that was good :)
