Cool Front Eve Grilled Brats
« Reply #-1 on: September 27, 2022, 08:56:24 AM »

Alright, so yesterday evening I put some brats in a grill hot tub soak on the grill with a Sam Adams Oktoberfest or two, a stick of butter and some chopped onions. They were in there until internally cooked and removed to grill.

Of course I had to toast the buns a little.

And then I apparently grabbed too small of a plate or was really hungry. I think a little of both. Served with some crinkle cut fries and a couple of Claussen Kosher dill pickles.

I went to college in Michigan and had a friend from Sheboygan.  I remember him going back to their festival every year and bringing back about 15 Pounds of brats from the Sheboygan Sausage Company.  We then had a cook out with lots of beer; those were the days.  I think their brats were the best I ever had.  Would like to order some but shipping is always too much.  That is why I make my own.  Good but not like theirs.  Good eats.

I've made brats several times using your recipe and I like it just fine. Actually, more than just me. :)

I am getting forgetful in my old age.  The brats that I used to get from my friend were from Usinger's.  They appear to be rated at the top in Wisconsin, but I know that there are probably many other good ones that I have not had the opportunity to taste.
