Breakfast on Sandman
« Reply #-1 on: February 14, 2013, 01:22:37 PM »
Feb 14 2013
Last evening when my wife went thru the Beer & Wine Depot to pick up our pizza Sandman gave her a bag of bacon for me. It was some of his buckboard bacon, sugar cured and hickory smoked. It was over a pound. Awhile back he gave me some thin sliced and I told him I thought I would like thicker sliced. He sliced this thicker for me.

I had to do this up right so I made some grits and had his bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast this morning. The bacon was delicious, with a sweet hickory smoke taste. Thanks for the generous portion of bacon Sandman!

That's what breakfast is all about.  No fruit, no yogurt, no cake, no cold cereal, no granola bars, no milkshakes, no green tea, no crumpets, no fru-fru namby-pamby non-satisfying pap or slop.  REAL FOOD  8)   This makes me want to stand up and
SALUTE your plate!  The world is a little better off for your efforts, Smokin' Don.

Sandman's bacon looks awesome.  As for the grits, I've learned to make them tolerable.  Now if I could just learn to make them enjoyable.
