This helps when flattening stuff
« Reply #-1 on: February 14, 2013, 09:55:50 PM »
Y'all most likely already do this but I'll pass it along anyway.  When I have to flatten something, especially chicken breasts, I take a gallon zip lock bag and put a little olive oil in it and squish it around.  Then I put the breast in and pound it to the thickness I want.  This also works with other meat.  Before I started doing this my flatten breasts looked like they had been targets at a turkey shoot.  If y'all are not already doing this you may want to give it a try. Great method, Dee. I use a spritz of water when I don't want to cook with olive oil.

Bag is a little thicker and seems to "slide" better IMHO.

And if you are doing a marinade - well - you are all set....

I also use plastic wrap. I honestly never heard of using a zip lock bag. Learned something new. :)
