« Reply #-1 on: April 10, 2013, 11:32:03 PM »
In the market for a Weber Kettle.  Just sounds fun.  looking on Craigs List and found this.  Is it worth looking at??  Price seems ok at $20 but wondering about the condition?

Thanks,

its a early weber like mine.  any letter stamp on the top daisy wheel.  that will date it for ya.  it does have 2 wooden handles on it.  it also has the 3 four hole daisy wheels on the bottom.  i can shut mine completely down and it still runs at 300°.  i myself the like the webers w/ the fins although i did order myself some daisy wheels yesterday for mine.  it is easier to control the heat on the webers w/ the 3 fins in the inside side of the grill.  i think you can find a better one for maybe $30 to $50.   8)

You would be amazed how nice those old Webers clean up. You can get all the replacement parts direct from Weber........

Yep, I agreee!  The old Weber kettles seem like they never die. You just replace a part here and there and they keep going. That's why they're worth every penny.

Ace Hardware is a Weber dealer, so if you have one locally, you can usually get the parts right there.  Ace also offers free ship-to-store, for parts they don't stock.
