Cooking down a new sauce....
« Reply #-1 on: June 09, 2013, 07:19:22 PM »
trying out a new BBQ sauce I have been thinking on and working on. It is a tomato based but uses red raspberry balsamic vinegar and red raspberry pie filling. Tasting pretty good so far. Wish some of you all lived a little closer so you could taste test for me.

UPS...? :D

Really - it sounds like a nice combo. A little Jal' powder or red pepper flake for color/flavor?

PM your addy and will see what I can do. It doesn't have all that preservative stuff.... may have to send in a small foam cooler...which I can get from our local clinic for free.

It does have some chili powder and just a very small amount of cayenne.... I have to be careful, don't have a lot of chili heads living under our roof. I feel it had a nice front end bite and a very nice back end bite. I wouldn't mind it being a touch more spicy.. ???

My Ma in Law is one of the best cook straight out cooks I know, she loved it and wants me to make her a bottle. It tells me I am on the right track. That really means alot to me!!  Maybe more than winning the Royal or the Jack!!!! It would be close anyway!

Thanks,

Dan

You can use some canning jars to store your new sauce. Should make it shelf safe until opened...

After you do this you can ship a jar to me ;)

Thanks for the link muebe! I will spend some time learning how to "Can" my sauce and then get you a bottle to try.
