Opinions of vac sealer

I was looking at Costco and they have the food saver v3800, wondering what you guys think of it? I don't want to brake the bank for one unless it's really necessary...... Thanks!

I have had mine for several years with no problems. It does waste a little more bag when sealing due to it's automatic design. It is a good sealer for the price and Costco offers a good extra bag selection with it. I am currently using Weston bags with it. I got the bags for a great deal on Amazon.

If you find that you are not happy with something Costco will take it back no questions asked. But I think you will like it.

I have the FoodSaver® V3840.

I am currently using Weston bags along with everyone else. Folks around here will let you know when to buy.

For regular vacuum sealing you will like it. Now if you want to do the dry aged beef with it, look for Muebe's post for tips and tricks.

We are on our 2nd Vac-Seal...who knows what model - it is white if that helps.

Deb doesn't want to be without it.  I like it for freezing left over meat and such.  I also vac-seal rubs for use later.  Vac-canisters came with it so we can marinade under vacuum - that's a plus.

I can tell you we didn't break the bank - I wouldn't do that on a vac-sealer...a smoker, maybe, but not a vac-sealer.
