Caddy Casings
« Reply #-1 on: February 10, 2012, 10:11:26 AM »
This caddy was special order of 17mm. My other 3 orders have been 19 and 20mm of stuffing at 4900 ft per caddy. This caddy is about 2411 give or take some.

As long as you vac bag and keep in the fridge the casings will be good for 2 years. How long will it take for me to use them all? Depends on how many batches of sticks i do.

Ready to separate and vac bag.

This caddy is about 2411 give or take some.

Is that 2411 ft of 17mm casing?

I prefer natural hog & sheep casings (even though they're more work), but wouldn't mind a good supply of collagen for the beef sausages I make.  Where did you order these?

Yes this box is 2411 ft of 17mm.

I order from Dupey Equip in Clive, Iowa. This caddy was $148.11

Tee, if you are not needing a huge amount like this you can pick up collagen casings and natural hog casings at Academy Sports. I picked some of the natural casings but have not used them yet.
