Drinking & Eating my way through Spain & Portugal ( Ford Family Fun)

In Spain Breakfast was pastry, juice & coffee, lunch was light & the big meal was at nite.
Lunch was served from 1:00 - 4:00 & the resturants opened for dinner from 7:30 -800 & served till 11:00PM
Dinner was often small plates (tapas) & drink.
Wine was good & cheap ;D house wines were good & often $2.50/ glass!
Every dinner was eaten outside!

Acorn fed, cured ham & tenderloin with cheese

Gin & tonic a favorite drink , local beer & wine

Drinking at the Ritz ::)
Across the stream from a museum , it nice to see how the 1% lives!

Route of Don Quixote

12 century synagogue

Salmon & ham tapas

Grilled fish

More tapas

Grilled veggies

Museum of beer

In Portugal , more seafood, Lisbon on the sea, absolutely beautiful & in mid July we had a high 70's to low 80's!

Grilled cod , seasoned salt, pepper lemon & drizzled with olive oil

Restaurant with 500 y/o paintings on the walls

Lamb stew with bread

Sidewalk Cafe's outside our hotel

The view

I'm envious.  We're going to Valencia & (back to) Barcelona in November (while you're going crazy with wedding stuff) but I'm still trying to organize a trip to Portugal.

What a trip!!  I just showed my wife your pictures.  She said, "Do you want to add that trip to our list?"  YES!!!  Some of that food looks really, really good.
