Menu and beer
« Reply #-1 on: August 25, 2013, 04:01:42 AM »
As I posted the other day, I got a box with Bavarian beer. That was tested yesterday, and of course I had cooked some food, too.

We started with MOINK-balls and Unertl "Weissbier" from Haag:

Then we had cabbage bratwurst - wrapped with arugula in a tortilla and on a skewer with onions -, mushrooms in balsamico and arugula salad. Here we had a Unertl "Muhldorfer Weissbier".

Main dish was chicken. The one was seasoned with Fine Swine & Bovine and the other with with Mo-Rockin' Chicken. Sides were a corn filled tomato, rice and a Muhldorf "Franz Xaver Unertls Helle Weisse".

We closed the meal with grilled pralines and ice cream - and Muhldorf Unertl "Gourmet Weisse".

As dessert to the dessert I opened a bottle Andechs "Weissbier Hell".

What was the result of the beer tasting and testing? All that beer was incredibly good. We all agreed that the Unertl Weissbier from Haag the best. With the other beers the opions differed. Here's my personal favorite list:

 1. Unertl "Weissbier" from Haag
 2. Unertl "Gourmet Weisse" from Muhldorf
 3. "Franz-Xaver Unertl Weisse hell" from Muhldorf
 4. Unertl "Muhldorfer Weissbier"
 5. Andechs "Weissbier Hell"

You're killing me with all this great food, WC!  It's been way, way too long since I had a real grilled bratwurst mit senft.  The bratwurst I buy at my grocery don't even come close.  And, somehow, Miller Lite, just doesn't stand up to those real beers.  Thanks for the great pictures  ;D

I'd eat that!
It looks like I'd need the better part of an afternoon, though. :-)

I'd drink that, too.

That is one dynamite dinner. And the beer. I like beer. This reminds me of having dinner in Wiesbaten, Germany. I spelled it wrong but you get the general idea. They pronounced it Viesbatten, whatever.
