Having grown up in Pittsburgh, it is still strange to me to even see other brands of ketchup on shelves or restaurant tables.

I like Hunts, definitely prefer Hellman's mayo and love Heinz 57. I'm a mutt...

I've always considered this stuff to be the ruination of good food and the salvation of bad.  It easily overpowers the flavor of whatever you put it on so if you douse something good with it you're ruining good food.  Alternatively, when confronted with a McDonalds hamburger, slathering it with ketchup will provide something a tad zestier than the cardboard box the burger came in.  With all due respect, however, I have several recipes that use ketchup as a base around which to build  pretty decent barbeque sauce

I can deal with some of the generic mayo out there.  Most of them taste identical to Hellman's.  Just so long as it isn't Miracle Whip (which I do use in some recipes but never as a spread)...

Hunt's was the most popular in our area growing up
and most folks prefer Miracle Whip instead of mayonnaise

Another Miracle Whip fan here. And I rarely eat ketchup.
