26" kettle or 18" WSM?
« Reply #-1 on: September 01, 2013, 12:04:08 PM »
good morning to ya'll.  I just sold my cambro.  my wife says I can use the money to either buy myself a 26" weber kettle or a 18" WSM.  it's my payment for painting the cabin.  I have the mak up at the cabin but no charcoal smoker up there.  I thought that I could use the 26 kettle to smoke w/ because of its large size and I will also get more cast iron skillet room on the kettle. I know that I just sold a 26 six months ago but they have since came out w/ a rotis for a 26 now and I am going to mod it to better suit my needs.  or I can just get a 18" WSM.  I do love my lovey.  and I have a grill at both places already.  what do ya'll think?   :-\

You already have the MAK there, so if charcoal smoking if your goal, you have to ask yourself is that easier on the Kettle or the WSM?

My best briskets have come off of a 22.5 Weber kettle........the 26.75 will give it a little more wiggle room........I have never liked the grub that comes off the WSM's.......just personal preference I guess.....

If you can truly only have one, I'd say the WSM.  That's just me though.  If you are at the cabin, I'm thinking you'll need a little bit of set it and forget it time and the WSM will provide that.

Hey Sparky, have you made your mind up already? What's taking you so long? Decisions, decisions.
