Having Turkey after All!
« Reply #-1 on: November 24, 2013, 12:09:19 PM »
Nov 24 2013

After I posted about turkey not being my favorite holiday meat we will have turkey on Thanksgiving after all. I give in to tradition once again.

Monday I will start prep for a slow roasted boneless  turkey breast, bread and celery dressing, home style mashed potatoes, buttered sweet corn, green beans with ham, cranberry relish, gravy, rolls and pumpkin bread.

Monday AM: Call Bob Evans and order their Farmhouse Turkey Feast for four. Have it ready for a Wed. afternoon pickup.

Worry about how it will all come out!

Wed. Afternoon: Pick up the turkey dinner and store in the fridge.

Thursday, Thanksgiving Day: Get it all out and heat up for a 5:00PM serving time. Our daughter in law is bringing a peanut butter pie. Sorry about no prep photos, Bob would not let me in the kitchen.

This is the first time I have done it this way. Next year I will try to cut the prep time down some!  ::)

May all have a great Thanksgiving Day!!! Smokin Don

Proud of you. There's a lot to be said for tradition. Can't wait to see how you cut the prep time next year. ;)
