On the move
« Reply #-1 on: November 30, 2013, 08:59:57 AM »
Well after 13 years of living in the same place I am going to be moving next weekend ???

I have a renter lined up for my place and she will be moving in as I move out. I was looking to buy in the Santa Clarita Valley but the homes are high priced right now and my home is not.

So I will become a landlord and a renter at the same time.

We finally found a really nice house to rent in Canyon Country in a upscale neighborhood. We just got the keys yesterday. It has a nice backyard for my kids(cooking equipment) but there is no patio cover :'(

So I am going to have to get my own makeshift patio cover installed.

I will be closer to the San Fernando Valley. You hear me Smoke? ;)

Wish me luck! Next weekend is going to be busy :o

Best of luck int he new place Mike!

You may want to talk about the move amongst your co-workers as a party. When you get everything in place, you will BBQ and have beer for everyone. AFTER you get enough help to move quickly, safely and without it killing any one person. Bait 'em! ;D

If that is what you and your family want, have at it. Good luck and don't hurt yourself or get stressed out in your move.

I am happy for you Mike.  A man should live where he wants to live and not where he has to live.  Just wish I could practice what I preach  ;D

Congrats.  And if I lived closer I would be happy to help move.

My mak shack while I was between homes.  Worked great.  Not so pretty.

Hope the move goes well Mike. Just get an EZ-Up canopy to cook under good way for a cover.

That was my thinking. Would rather set up something I could leave up however.

Thanks for all the support. This move is mainly for my kids. My neighborhood has gone downhill fast. I want my children living in a better community. It is close to their schools and daycare (mother-in-law). Also closer to my wife's work but I will now have a 30 minute commute to work instead of 2 minutes. I do get to take the company truck home so gas is not on my dime. Wife was spending $800 a month in gas running the kids to school and going to work. So that will cover the increase in monthly costs.

We wanted to buy but that just won't work right now so we are going to wait a few years. The house we are renting would probably be on the market for $500, 000 to $600, 000 ???
