Swiss Sausage Supper
« Reply #-1 on: December 05, 2013, 09:20:20 PM »
In the 2 to 3 weeks before Christmas we usually spend 3-4 days in New Garus,WI (Little Switzerland). We shop for unique gifts, baked goods,  many varieties of Swiss sausages and smoked meats, and enjoy the fabulous Swiss cooking, not to mention a World class brewery, in this tiny town. Well we have our hands full these days with a new rambunctious pooch, so we will be staying nearby for a while. All is good!
Last time there we stocked up pretty well.  8)  so tonight we had Kalberwurst (a sausage made with veal, milk, crackers, and mild spices). Along with a pan gravy made with onion, butter, milk, flour,S&P, over mashed potatoes. Isn't it amazing how a meal can spark the mind, and take you back to another time and place!   ;D  Cheers!

This sausage isn't much to look at, but it's very tasty Mike. Finely ground, mild, but rather rich. I love it!
