IF tee changes the name how about Let's Talk BBQ and Other Cooking Styles.

Nothing too drastic of a change and I agree with an earlier post we are all experienced BBQ'ers
and I may dabble a bit with stove cooking I prefer and my family prefers grilled and BBQ food.
My 2 cents worth!

My Nickel, ( Canada does not use penny's anymore).

First and foremost there are not many smokers where I live but is is growing. I can cook in a kitchen so I won't starve. I like to try new things. My choice of cooking style right now is BBQ. I have much to learn.

The name "Lets Talk BBQ and More" says it all in my mind. ;D

Let me explain the reason behind the potential name change.

We are working on an additional new site - that is video focused.  But - it will need to refer to a place for folks with questions and comments. That site will be called
Outdoor Cooking Digest. It is a work in progress right now.
When folks think about Outdoor Cooking - there are thousands of potential things that come to mind. Because of where we are - that is more often than not - called "BBQ". But, please recognize that BBQ is a part of Outdoor Cooking. This name is designed to not exclude anyone. Many folks will not think of BBQ in the broad sense that you or I might….

So - Outdoor Cooking Digest, needs a companion site for article and recipe storage, as well as Q and A about the videos, in threads hosted here.

But - here is the best part…….
The videos will be generated by YOU. There are some members here that already like to make videos, and - perhaps they will want to contribute, and help with tips for others. We will have someone to help you when using our equipment as well.We have purchased 2 complete camera systems - that will be shipped around. The are like the Go Pro System - but with some interesting differences. We can change the angle of view on these cameras in the field - without sending them in to a factory authorized shop. There is a chest harness and camera bracket - so that the "focus is on the food". In other words - no chef's coats allowed. No professionals. ( We may have "guest" cooks occasionally - later) This is a peer-to-peer process. Folks that love to cook - sharing with others. Family recipes. New ideas. Maybe something innovative that you saw or figured out…you name it!

Maybe this will explain my reason for the needed name change. There needs to be a cohesive name so that the 2 sites can best support each other in the search engines and with people looking for similar content. And - it will not affect any of your settings, you will still be able to type in "LetsTalkBBQ"  in your browser and come here. The two sites will interface - but still be separate.

More later…. ;)

I am a member of Cooks Illustrated and really enjoy their how to videos. I am thinking that this is the direction T is looking to go with this site and can accept and agree with that. :)

OK Tee. Since Outdoor Cooking digest will be a companion site go with:

Lets Talk BBQ and Outdoor Cooking

That may work….Or :  Lets Talk Outdoor Cooking and BBQ.

BBQ is a "sub-set" of Outdoor Cooking. BBQ is part of Outdoor Cooking.

This is merely a tool to help others find us as we already include charcuterie, smoking, grilling and several categories under our "BBQ umbrella" - again - the original URL of www.LetsTalkBBQ.com will take you to our index page here. It will not cause anyone that is currently a member any inconvenience. You will not have to change ANYTHING on your end.I am only trying to continue making this site bigger and better - as well as finish and put on-line something that will give each one of us MORE of the stuff we like.
So - I am going to ask all of you to trust me on this.
After all….we made LTBBQ a great place - right? Same principles…and same "feel" ;)

It wil have the kind of video that is short, sweet - and to the point. Again - we will assist in helping YOU make these of your favorites that you wish to share with others. We will be editing, adding effects, etc. You do no have to use Outdoor Cooking.  But I will bet you will…because it will be a fun way to exchange more than just ideas and recipes in a text format as we do here, with still photos.
Video is just fun kids!
