OK...well the OP explained everything to me.  I haven't been in the cooking forums for a while, and I just went SoTG and was wondering why it looked deserted. I didn't bother to try to post since it looked like it was dying.   There is a post on there about a spam problem, and I won't be on a site for long if it is bombarded like that.  I am on many other forums that don't have that problem.  Sometimes you just need a better platform for better security.

Forums come and forums go..it is just a part of internet life.  You move along to something that suits you better.   I imagine that SoTG is more of a money sucker than anything, and it takes work to manage and moderate a forum like that. CB probably has more productive things to do.  Yes, I think it is kinda sad but the community has another home that isn't as restrictive to content (CB).  So good on us!

I propose we play 'taps' and move along.

Ka Honu   You still read'n ?  just checking...

I do not feel I wasted any time on the other site. I met so many people there who are now like family!
The Fall gathering is a highlight each year... If you have not attended you should...
I learned a great deal and shared many Great moments and read many a tall tail as well.
It may have run its coarse but most every one is here and thanks to Tim for making this is a great site!
I really enjoy the fact we can freely discuss any cooker here. From a hole in the ground to a tractor trailer size smoker...
I think this site will bring us much more in the long run. Has already.. And if T lets it go down hill we know where he lives!  :o ;D
I tell folks that like grilling about this site all the time.
I'm glad we have it and to be here !

Tee and Smoke,  What I meant was Smoke saying he may needed to be sent back to moderator school and I was saying don't take it online as he has in the past...Face to face instruction is probably needed.  Sorry I was lucid.  Dee

One of the reasons you two were chosen as moderators is that you agreed to take those overpriced, essentially useless courses at personal expense. Had you read the fine print (and you should always read the fine print) you might have noticed the courses were created by some company called "Gig 'em T2 Productions." I took that as a clue; you should have too.

Bump!

There's a post on SOTG saying that Char-Broil is closing the site.

Who cares?  Only their new customers.  The active members migrated here.
