Fresh Oysters Steamed
« Reply #-1 on: February 10, 2014, 08:51:31 PM »
We took the boat out to Ossabaw Island oyster beds and raked up three large coolers full of oysters.
Gave most away and kept about 60 or so for us.

Ready to steam first load:

Steaming for eight minutes:

Starting to open so they are ready to eat:

Looking good.  I can really chow down on steamed oysters.  Don't know where you're located but I'm envious that you can get fresh ones that easily.

Same for me... raw.

Forget steaming, deep-frying, etc.

Shuck them, a spritz of lemon, some hot sauce and they're good to go...

I'll take a dozen please!
