Beef is up for all of the same B.S. reasons that gas prices go up but never come down... because people pay it and believe the media B.S.  OK, off my soapbox.

Around here, ground beef is over $3/lb. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Gas prices continue to escalate, then never get below a certain price threshold again. I'm afraid meat prices will do the same thing.

Up about 50% over 2012 in my area.No real pork sales at all, pork butt had some cut about 1-1.5 inches, bone in at 2.99,wow!Staters Bros has their tough round/sirloin tip at 3.99. Will check Cardenas,2 weeks ago they had whole pork butt, unadvertised at .99/lb,today going shopping so will see, need my sausage ingredients.Shoulda bought that when I had the chance says Mr Hindsight.

This is all too depressing. I blame global warming/cooling, El Nino/La Nina, Obama, Boehner, Putin, the CIA, Kim Il Jun, The Brady Bunch, FOX News, Prince Charles, CNN, GM, Dopey & the dwarf (Honolulu mayor & HI governor), the NRA, AMA, ABA, Angela Merkel, Supreme Court, politicians worldwide, everyone who lives inside the DC beltway, MGM, most Californians, Billy Graham, Ann Landers, lawyers in general, most union officials, Ferdinand & Imelda Marcos, and several more whose names I either forget or can't spell. Actually pretty much everybody except LTBBQ members.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion

May have to resort to a "rack of tofu" if the pork prices keep climbing!  8)

I cannot hardly even afford or agree to buy hamburger.  Ground chuck is $4.99 a pound and it goes up from there depending on the cut.  Seafood is also going out of sight, unless you buy the stuff from Southeast Asia which I will not do.  I do not want to be a vegan.

In Socal....Cardenas cut me up a pork butt for 1.99/lb,chuck roast 3.99/lb.

Stater Bros was 80/20 burger 3 lb chub was 2.99/lb,was 4.99/lb in meat case! Sirloin was 3.99/lb

Thats it,and those were the bargains.Try to only buy the sale items then shop from the freezer at home.

Oh,got 2 corned beef points for 1.99/lb,while supply lasts, got the last 2,that was a treat at Staters.

Could have been much worse. Now I can make my kielbasa and got some meat to try out the grillmates.

Just got our "sale papers" today.  Local Market has St Louis ribs @ $2.59 lb (previously frozen) / Kroger has 'em for $2.79

Pork back ribs are $2.99 lb

CAB Choice chuck roast @ $3.29 lb

Boneless/ skinless chicken breast @ $1.99 lb

Boston Butts @ $1.79 lb

I will pick 'em up and ship 'em to any of the "lower 48"...order while supplies last.
(cannot be combined with other offers...prices may vary according to attitude.  Free shipping does not apply. don't call me...I'll call you)
