1 nice healthy low cal rainbow, cleaning juicer after mix. I really like the beets, and spinach is darn good too

Another beautiful broth. I dont get to eat the veggies, they get tossed, but that broth is prime!

Now for a couple hours in the pot.For sure this is NOT a starvation diet,Im doing well sticking to it without giving it much thought. No hungrier than on a regular foodie diet.

Congrats on the weight loss buddy! I seen that film and it was an eye opener for sure. I don't think I could handle that diet unless I was allowed to juice bacon.

Spuds, sorry for the late reply.

My story is unique.  I tell it here in a podcast:  http://www.infinitepie.co.uk/podcasts/ipt-ep-64-eric-rowley/

I suffered from severe migraines most of my life. These migraines were so debilitating that I would pretty much be in a coma like state for a few days.
I am an extremely active and fit firefighter, so weight was never an issue. I could eat pretty much whatever I wanted as I could easily burn it off through my activities and maintain 6% body fat. So while from the outside I may appear to be extremely healthy, it was these migraines that were making my mental health anything but stable.

I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on treatments and medications, of which none made any true resolution. Years of specialists, trials and even the contemplation of a very risk brain surgery were just part of the course.

A friend turned my on to FSND about 3 years ago. I scoffed at the idea of a juice fast. It did not seem possible or make any sense to be able to survive on just juice. However, I decided to try juicing to support this friend. I did a week straight, because that is what I determined would be healthy for me. Any more than that and I would be loosing important muscle.  The first few days were rough. I learned what a reboot was. My body was trying to figure out what was going on. All it knew was it had all the proper nutrients that it needed and it was time do some much needed repairs.

Today, I've cut out a lot of grains and dairy out of my diet, and most my meals are green based with some added proteins. I follow the pale protocol fairly close, and occasionally "cheat". I juice at least once a day to keep the nutrient intake up. If I'm fueled properly my body can deal with the junk.

Ultimately it's caused me to learn so much more about what I eat. It's pretty amazing how poorly we eat as a society, hence the cancers and weight issues that are so prevalent. We are eating sugars, preservatives and hormones at a rate that is causing major damage to the population. Luckily, I feel a food revolution brewing as people are realizing that they are over fed and under nourished.

As far as juicing I really don't have any specific recipes. I literally just buy a ton of variety and mix and match. I always have a kale or spinach base and go from there. A little strawberry or lemon will make anything taste better.

Now I'm at the point where sugar and grains don't even taste good to me and I can only tolerate a small amount. I crave juice when I go too long without it.

If you have any questions please contact me. Even call, email or text. I don't have much time throughout the day to check the forum, but I will do my best to stay on top of it. I am all about helping people!

Thats some story, thanks for sharing. The podcast was very good.

I agree, overfed and undernourished is exactly right.Cant tell you how many 20 somethings with fatty livers, man alive, thats just insane.

We are bombarded with ads telling us to take this pill or that, thats really the wrong Answer.IMO the answer is take charge of your health yourself. Seems pretty much everything we need to be healthy is right in front of us,we just have to learn what it is,and make a choice. Do I want to be healthy or not.

Fat is not healthy, when I realized this I realized huffing and puffing just to walk, sore joints, back, etc I was heading to a really crummy end of life.Im not going there.

And juicing is a good chance to not go there for me.

I work in a hospital and I'll be a monkeys Uncle if I,me,myself,is going to spend the end of my life in and out of there due to debilitating diseases that can be prevented just by dropping the dang fat.

Yup,Im fat, even obese at just 230 lbs,I am sick, but Im not going to die for it.Not me.No more excuses or ignoring it or just being ignorant about it anymore. And thats the bottom line, its my choice. Not this kid,no way.

Ive already cut one of 2 BP pills in half and seeing pressures at rest average 120/66 or even lower,my norm used to be about 140/80.

I dont need no stinkin' BP pills,I need to lose FAT instead.Much much  better answer IMO.

Yup,Im getting better, already.Mrs keeps saying when she touches, hugs me....I cant believe how much weight is gone,I can feel it.So can I.

Bring on the juices, and when I hit my goal, bring on a healthy calorie controlled diet, not a sacrificial diet,a healthy filling diet.

Thats my journey.

OK,2 weeks in.

Lost 20 lbs,or 2 briskets,or 2 bowling balls,or when I was carrying that HEAVY half a 5 gallon water container bottle for the dog water dish, sheesh,I was carrying that 24/7,what a difference!

Can say for sure its sure made a difference in how I feel.Like when I rise from sitting, geeze, its actually notably easier, how cool is that?

I also dumped the coffee at the same time, body sure is a lot less tense, dont get fine tremors any more. From a pot a day, from 40 year history, surprised, that alone has been a really notable change.I do drink a tea a day, some with caffeine, mostly without, even so a ton less caffeine.

But to be honest I havent really felt all that energetic until evening rolls around, and getting a bit bored with just drinking juices.

But every morning I get up,go potty, weigh myself and every morning the weight is down, its a powerful motivator for sure to keep going.Im sure if I wasnt seeing change it would be a lot more difficult for me to stick to a diet long term, but now I see it works, bet I can after this.

Ive become a calorie counter for sure, and finding a lot you can eat without tons of useless calories.

Thats the latest.....

Ive become a calorie counter for sure, and finding a lot you can eat without tons of useless calories.

Ain't that the truth, when I started a food journal of everything I eat and drink it was easy to see where I was packing on the useless calories.  My biggest problem was macronutrient ratios were way out of line, I was consuming 50% fat and about 20% carbs. Should be the other way, 20% fat and 50% carbs, once I got those ratios in order the calories in vs calories out took care it itself.  I also noticed that my intake of potassium rich foods was very low, once I took care of that deficiency I saw my blood pressure drop too.

Keep up the good work Spuds, you're doing great. We should get together and go shopping for some skinny clothes.   ;)

Nice looking breakfast Drew,WTG!!!

LVC,very funny on the clothes,Mrs just telling me the same thing.

This diet stuff is very interesting, cant believe how ignorant I am on the subject, and soooo many ways people do it that works for them, just fascinating!

You can be a juicer, paleo, vegan, exerciser, calorie counter,Adkins, just goes on and on,and all that matters is taking the train YOU want,so long as we all end up in Topeka in the end.

You aren't the only one, I learned a lot when I started my journey to healthier nutrition.  And it's amazing how many of my friends and family members still don't understand what healthy nutrition is all about.  Sometimes I get the strangest looks and comments when we go out to eat and I'm making substitutions to the menu or ordering everything a la carte and specifying how to have it prepared.  It's my health and I'll take care of it my way.

Lately Ive been looking around at my favorite fast foods and the great home made options, looks like the McD filet o fish, while not really that bad, also can be made better with less cals by baking instead of frying fish, and making a lo cal tarter sauce at home.YUMM.

I was talking to friend who was making veggie lettuce sandwiches on her calorie cutting.Put mayo on it,but 100 cals a TBS,yet mustard is almost nothing but didnt like it with just lettuce/mustard.She was at store and found sliced ham that was 70 calories for 3 slices, added mustard and had a ham sammy for less than a lettuce with mayo.

Im going to try that gem too. With tomato and onion.Actually really sounds very good.
