Sunday Dinner
« Reply #-1 on: May 18, 2014, 09:25:51 AM »
Well, here in Ohio, the weather has been quite strange. During the month of May, I have run my AC one week and heat the following week.  This morning, awoke to 38 degrees outside, but weatherman said we will get to 70 later in the day.  Yesterday, during my long run I ran threw sleet!!

So, what do I have planned for dinner? bone in pork chops, sweet potatoes, spinach salad and Graters ice cream for desert.

Taters will be cooked on SRG, cause there be no better way to cook'em IMHO

Chops to be brined, seasoned and cooked over a real coal fire. Haven't quite decided which brine, so stay tuned.

Simple brine, water, 1/4 cup salt, 1/4 sugar, garlic cloves, pepper corns, dry cilantro.  Heat, rest, add ice to cool, add chops in freezer bag
