May 18 2014

I never have time to welcome new members. I see lately we have a lot of new members posting their first cooks. I welcome you now, I think that is what we all like in here; seeing others cooking and getting ideas from each other.  I have been cooking, grilling and smoking for over 35 years and find I can always learn even from a novice cook. Cooking and BBQ is a forever learning craft.

I have been a member here since Jan. 2013 just over a year. You all have made me feel like it has been a lot longer and I think I posted once I had been here 3 years! That’s old age! With everyone’s busy life style now we get locked in to just having time for family, we don’t neighbor like we used to. This site gives us a chance to neighbor and share with each other.

The site allows posts and discussions about all kinds of cooking; you name it its allowed BBQ and more. I am getting up there, 72 now, and seems like every winter slows me down more. If I don’t get in here as often and miss some of your cooks I apologize. Just keep on posting the cooks; especially you new members, I have learned a lot in here about BBQ and other cooking!

Very thoughtful post Don!  You say at 72 you are slowing down,  hard to tell from all you do sir. Your posts and photography are always a highlight for me when I log on here. We have all learned so much from you buddy! If your pace slows down, so be it. But please never leave us, as good as this place is,  it never could be the same without you!  :)
