I believe Char Broil had an off day when my SRG was packed to leave the factory. I do a lot of cooking and most of what I use is pretty old and made to last, but when I do buy something new I want it to be free of dents, scratches, and chipped coating. I first saw the Char Broil Big Easy oil-less fry at Pro Bass shop and I wanted one right away, but I waited to research it. By luck I found one that had very little use in a thrift store for $50, brought it home and started using right away. I knew I had to have the SRG next, so after almost a year I ordered one online and was so exited when I received it 2 days later. Opened the box to find several pieces dented, scratched, and chipped. True, grilling would function even with the different damaged pieces, but I should be the first one to dent, scatch, or chip my new grill. Side point, the box was in perfect condition, so I am pretty sure nothing happen in transit. At this point the final pieces, for the 3 damaged legs are due in by Tuesday. It has taken about 2 months from my first contact with them to get to this point, last week the new top lid, outer body, and cooking chamber arrived. I do think I will enjoy many grilled meals from my SRG, but I do believe Char Broil missed the mark at the factory and with delayed customer service this time, hopefully they will do better in the future. Below you can see some of the damage I had, and why I wanted CB to make things right.
