Recently purchased a Charbroil Big Easy SRG and converted it to natural gas. Viewing the gas control knob panel as a clock face, the knob is full OFF at 6:00 and at full ON at 12:00. Gas does not actually start to flow until app. 7:30, is at maximum at app. 9:00, and, starts decreasing to full off at app. 10:30. I would have anticipated the flow to begin at 6:00 and gradually increase to full ON at 12:00, but this is not the case. Is the valve operating correctly ? Apparently the only way to buy a replacement valve is to buy the hose, regulator, and valve assembly ($40.00) which I'm reluctant to do without knowing if the valve is faulty.
BTW, installed a thermometer on the lid and maximum temp is app. 450* when control knob is at 9:00.
Thanks, timberlane

I'm sure Tommy will chime in with your answer, but I,m curious on how you converted to natural gas do they sell a conversion kit?

Muebe will be the one to answer this one. He is our gas guy here

I want to convert my new SRG to nat gas as well but CB doesn't make a conversion kit. How is this accomplished?
There is away Muebe (Mike) has he's converted. I would ask a gas company for advice if you don't think you can do it your self.
I wish I could convert mine but I don't have gas to the house nore do I want the $$$$$ to have it done
